TIR DEMONSTRATES LEADERSHIP AT PREMIER LED LIGHTING CONFERENCE


‘Strategies in Light’ is the premier annual business conference on high-brightness LEDs. The conference brings together the principal movers and shakers in the world of high-brightness LEDs, focusing on the latest developments in markets and applications. Numerous themes including LED market trends and forecasts, Solid State Lighting (SSL) lighting applications, national SSL initiatives and new LED product development were featured.

TIR’s leadership and expertise in the advancement of enabling technologies for SSL is demonstrated by the Company’s presence and featured presentations at the conference.

Leonard Hordyk, President and CEO of TIR introduced case studies of TIR’s SSL installations to address the need for continued research and development. His presentation was titled “Engaging the Opportunity: R&D for SSL Enabling Technologies”.

Brent York, Vice President of Engineering and Technology covered the topic of “Optical Systems and Visualizing Light”, detailing the effects of various optical methodologies and their impact on the luminous environment from the use of high brightness LEDs.

Ian Ashdown, Senior Research Scientist spoke on “Color Rendering Index, Chromacity and Measurement of High Brightness LEDs: What Lighting Practitioners Need To Know.” This topic is key to the technical roadmap for the development of white light from LED’s.
